Since posting this joke, I've received a following comment.

As a life long Dylan fan, I feel compelled to point out, in case you don't already know, the true origins of this tune which was first released by Dylan in 1973, when Axl was a mere 11 years old.

I didn't know this myself, but realized the importance of the correction to any Dylan fans. All underwear bunches are now free.
